HUB International, a Chicago, Ill., headquartered global insurance brokerage, has announced that Charles Brophy has been promoted to president of HUB International’s East Region, spanning from Maine to the mid-Atlantic region. His appointment will be effective January 1, 2017. He will also remain in his current role as President and CEO of HUB International New England LLC following the promotion.
This comes as HUB International New England LLC also announced that Brophy was recently named as the 2016 Insurance Professional of the Year by the Insurance Library Association of Boston.
The Insurance Professional of the Year Award is presented each year to an individual who demonstrates leadership and respect for the insurance industry. The award was presented on October 14, 2016, at a reception held by The Insurance Library Association of Boston at Boston Park Plaza Hotel.
Brophy has more than 25 years of business development and management experience with domestic and London based brokerage firms. He joined HUB International New England LLC in 1996 after spending 12 years as director of Bain Hogg Robinson LLC. Prior to his career in the brokerage field, Brophy was a senior commercial underwriter with the Travelers Insurance Company.
He is a member of the Advisory Council for the Hartford, AIG, Arbella, Safeco, Travelers, and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. He is active in the Insurance Library Association of Boston and serves on the Board of Directors.
