Brownyard Group Rolls Out Library Insurance Program in 3 Eastern States

Program administrator Brownyard Group has launched By The Cover, a new insurance program for non-profit libraries. The program will be written through an A.M. Best Company “A+” rated carrier on an admitted basis in New York, Connecticut and New Jersey and will roll out nationwide over the next year.

By The Cover is a multi-line package program offering commercial property, general liability, auto, inland marine, crime and fidelity coverages.

Coverages offered to non-profit libraries include:

  • Medical payments for athletic participants
  • Good Samaritan coverage for medical emergencies
  • Abuse or molestation coverage
  • Wage & Hour coverage
  • Flood or backup of sewers and drains ($25,000)

The program also offers two optional policies to supplement the package: an umbrella policy and a combined directors and officers and employment practices liability policy.

Brownyard developed By The Cover in conjunction with the Regan Agency of Babylon, N.Y., which has 35 years of experience and expertise in insuring libraries.

The program is initially available in three states:

  • In Connecticut and New Jersey through all agents and brokers
  • In New York exclusively through the Regan Agency

Brownyard Group is a program administrator that has developed and provided specialized insurance programs for select industries, including security guards, pest control operators, cosmetics manufacturers, alarm systems, private investigators, security consultants, landscape professionals, cemeteries and the beauty industry. In 1993, Brownyard established Brownyard Claims Management, a loss prevention and full-service insurance claims facility. The company is based in Bay Shore, N.Y.
