Conner Strong & Buckelew Hires Hanna as Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management

Conner Strong & Buckelew, a Camden, New Jersey-based insurance, risk management and employee benefits brokerage and consulting firm, has hired Ed Hanna as vice president of enterprise risk management (ERM).

Hanna has more than 20 years of experience helping clients create ERM programs. In this newly created position, Hanna will oversee the development and delivery of new technologies and services to better manage risk. The practice will work closely with the major accounts and employee benefits divisions.

Hanna has experience with both enterprise and insurance-based risk management solutions. Most recently, he served as the commercial and sales leader for RCM&D’s Pennsylvania operations.

Markel Corporation Hires Towse as Executive Underwriting Officer

Markel Corporation has hired Kristin Towse as executive underwriting officer for the Markel Specialty division. She is based out of Boston, Massachusetts.

In this role, she will be responsible for leading the products and regulatory services and risk solution services teams. She will also be responsible for further building out Markel Specialty multiline capabilities, focusing on industry verticals.

Towse has direct underwriting experience in professional, casualty and property lines and brings more than 20 years of insurance expertise to Markel Specialty. Prior to joining Markel, Towse held multiple leadership roles spanning property, casualty and professional at Chubb.

LL Global Names Epright as Chief Financial Officer

LL Global, the parent organization for LIMRA, LOMA and Secure Retirement Institute, has named Janine Epright as chief financial officer.

Most recently, she was chief financial officer for the non-profit Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut and Mohegan Holding Company, where she directed the development and management of financial statements, budgets, financial and cost forecasts and regulatory filings, as well as multiple annual audits.

As the chief financial officer, Epright will be responsible for managing LL Global’s finances, including financial planning and forecasting, management of financial risks, record-keeping and financial reporting. She will also provide analysis of LL Global’s financial strengths and weaknesses, proposing corrective actions as needed.
