MEMIC Hires White as Senior Underwriter in Pennsylvania

Workers’ compensation insurer MEMIC Group has hired Curtis White as senior production underwriter, responsible for renewals and new business in Pennsylvania.

White’s career in the workers’ compensation industry spans 14 years and includes positions with ICW Group, BrickStreet Insurance and Eastern Alliance after eight years in the banking industry.

Based in Lancaster, he will focus on building an agency footprint in central and western Pennsylvania, partnering with agents to help grow revenue and providing agent and customer service.

World Insurance Appoints Robb as General Counsel

Insurance broker World Insurance Associates reported that Tim Robb has joined as the firm’s general counsel. In this role, Robb will have oversight of all legal functions across the business including corporate governance, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, and litigation.

Robb has 20 years of legal experience in the insurance and financial services industry. Most recently he was the chief legal officer of Amynta Group, an insurance services company. Prior to that, he was general counsel of NFP, an insurance broker.

World Insurance Associates is headquartered in Iselin, New Jersey. Since its founding in 2011, World has completed 147 acquisitions and serves its customers from 170 offices.

White Joins S&S as Loss Control Specialist

Rhode Island-based Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage (S&S) announced that Randy White Jr. has joined its loss control and safety team. The agency said White adds a new dimension by offering clients both safety and industrial hygiene services. He will focus on nuisance monitoring as well as environmental monitoring and sampling.

Prior to joining the S&S team, White worked at Johnson & Johnson DePuy Synthes facility as a health and safety specialist. In addition, he previously worked as a carpenter and safety specialist on construction projects such as The Big Dig and the Ted Williams Tunnel in Boston. He has also worked with several biotech companies including Biogen, Abbott Laboratories and Amgen.

Established in 1879, S&S is the largest independent agency in Rhode Island.
