Insurance broker The Hilb Group reports it has acquired Massachusetts-based Cook & Company Insurance Services in Hanover.
Cook & Co. offers health plan consulting and brokerage services to employers in New England, including a specialized focus on medical stop-loss and serving municipalities.
Agency Principal Sue Shillue and her team will join Hilb Group’s New England regional operations.
The Hilb Group, headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, is a portfolio company of The Carlyle Group, a global investment firm. Hilb Group has completed more than 140 acquisitions with over 100 offices in 22 states.
Hilb Group is no stranger to buying agencies in the Bay State. Last month it reported that is had acquired Lighthouse Insurance Agency in Dorchester and King and Cushman Agency in Northampton. Other Massachusetts agencies it has acquired in recent years in Massachusetts include Forrest Insurance Agency in Longmeadow, MillBrook Benefits and Insurance Services in East Longmeadow, and Eldredge & Lumpkin Insurance Agency in Chatham.
