Signers National, a specialty insurance agency group focused on commercial real estate, nonprofits and human service organizations, headquartered in New York, N.Y., hired Chris Parkinson as chief information officer (CIO).
Parkinson most recently served as senior vice president of global technology & operations at AmTrust Financial Services. He also held leadership roles at other carriers and MGAs, including Tower Group, Aequicap Insurance Group and Credit General Insurance Co.
Sal Abano, former CIO and president of Signers Retail titles, will continue as president.’

After more than 35 years with the New York Municipal Insurance Reciprocal (NYMIR), including 17 years as executive director, A. Kevin Crawford retires from NYMIR on December 31.
Peter A. Baynes will serve as the next NYMIR executive director, effective January 1.
Before taking the position of NYMIR executive director in 2006, Crawford was the general counsel at the Association of Towns of the State of New York. Prior to that he served in the counsel’s office at the New York State Secretary of State and as an attorney with the New York State Attorney General’s Office.
Baynes previously served as the executive director of the New York State Conference of Mayors (NYCOM) since 2005. Prior to that, he was NYCOM deputy executive director for 11 years. He also served as president of NYMIR’s attorney-in-fact from 2012 to 2023.
