RI3K, the London-based reinsurance exchange, announced that it will host a conference in Brussels June 19-20, bringing together major reinsurance industry participants for a 24 hour “Think Tank” called “An Exchange of Views.”
“The aim of the meeting is to assess how current exchange technology solutions suit the reinsurance industry, and to identify what pieces of the puzzle are still unresolved in the shared goal to achieve more efficient trading and data and cash management,” said the announcement.
RI3K aims to assemble “reinsurance buyers, e-commerce thought leaders and heads of IT from some of the largest and most influential cedants, reinsurers and brokers.” It announced that to date, representatives from the following companies have confirmed they will attend: Munich Re, Zurich, Marsh, Hannover Re, AXA Cessions, Guy Carpenter, Hannover HDI, XL Winterthur, AON, Partner Re, Royal Sun Alliance, inreon, CGNU, Converium, and Computer Sciences Corporation.
Alex Letts, RI3K’s CEO, indicated that “We are looking to deliver interactive, objective discussion between the prime movers within the industry. RI3K will not be speaking at the event other than by way of welcome and interaction from the floor. I hope this will prove to be a watershed moment in the development of exchanges for reinsurance”.
