October 4, 2002

Bermuda’s Endurance Specialty Insurance Ltd. announced the promotion of David V. Cabral to Executive VP for Excess Casualty and Professional Liability and that Ronald H. Koch has been named a Senior VP for Casualty Reinsurance.

Cabral has over twenty years of insurance expertise. He joined Endurance last March as Senior VP, Excess General Liability. He was previously VP of “FinPro” at Marsh USA where he oversaw program design, marketing and client servicing. He’s also held executive positions at Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, Starr Excess Liability Insurance Company and Aon.

“David committed himself and his team to firmly establishing Endurance’s General Liability area,” stated Ken LeStrange, Chairman and CEO of Endurance. “Now a respected choice in the market, the area continues to thrive under his direction. The expansion of his responsibilities to Excess Casualty and Professional Liability was a natural progression for a talented and dedicated leader.”

An underwriter of traditional and specialty casualty insurance for the past 30 years, Koch oversees Endurance’s Casualty Reinsurance segment. “Ron is a seasoned, extremely skilled underwriting professional with extensive experience in both primary and reinsurance products. He is an integral part of the management team that will make Endurance a long-term, high-performance player in the global marketplace,” Le Strange commented.

Koch was previously an underwriting consultant at Gerling Global Financial Products, and served as 2nd VP of Casualty Treaty Underwriting at Employers Re. Prior to that he spent 18 years at Swiss Reinsurance America, where he was a VP, Casualty Treaty Underwriting.
