Bermuda’s XL Capital Ltd. announced that Joseph C. Henry has been appointed to the position of Executive Vice President and Global Controller of XL Global Services. He’ll be responsible for overseeing financial reporting and planning, accounting, budgeting and financial analysis.
Henry joins XL after spending ten years at Meadowbrook Insurance Group where he was serving as Executive VP, COO, and Acting Chief Financial Officer, as well as President of Insurance Company Operations. Prior to that, he was VP of Finance and Administration for the Hanover Insurance Company from 1987 until 1993. Henry began his career in 1974 as a manager for KPMG Peat Marwick. He was made Senior Manager in 1981 when he re-located to Bermuda to oversee the training and development of professional practices for Peat Marwick’s captive and reinsurance clients. In 1983, Mr. Henry became Audit Partner for Peat Marwick’s Boston-based insurance practice.
XL’s CFO Jerry de St. Paer stated: “We are very pleased to have someone of Joe’s experience take on this new role. Joe has a wealth of knowledge and insight within the insurance industry that will be very valuable to XL.”
