LIMRA International, a worldwide association of insurance and financial services companies, has named John W. Greene, CLU, ChFC, president of Agency Distribution at The Prudential Insurance Company of America, a division of Prudential Financial, Inc., to its board of directors.

“John Greene will make a valuable contribution to the LIMRA International Board of Directors. He’s a strong leader with broad industry experience. And his perspective as head of agency distribution at Prudential fills an important need on the board,” stated Richard A. Wecker, LIMRA president and CEO.

Greene, who also represents Prudential on LIMRA’s Distribution Leaders Round Table, commented, “For nearly a century, LIMRA has been a barometer for the financial services industry – marking trends and providing statistical information that have helped member companies develop realistic business solutions. I look forward to working with my board colleagues to implement LIMRA’s mission of helping members improve their marketing and distribution effectiveness. Our combined efforts should have a positive impact on shaping the future of the insurance and financial services industry.”

Greene is responsible for Prudential’s national insurance sales organization, which consists of some 4,500 agents and financial planners, and represents Prudential’s face-to-face representative distribution system for insurance and investments.

He joined Prudential in 1979 as an agent in Danville, Illinois and held various sales positions before being named vice president of Regional Marketing of the Illinois Region in 1988. Greene continued in various sales leadership roles before being promoted to the rank of senior vice president of Retail Distribution in 1998, responsible for the sales activity of 10 states throughout the Mid-West and East Coast regions. In 2000, Greene was promoted to chief field officer of Retail Distribution.
