Assurex Global — the world’s largest privately held risk management and commercial insurance brokerage group – announced that it has expanded its worldwide presence with the addition of international broker Partners in Cork, Ireland; Mumbai, India; Lima, Peru; Caracas, Venezuela; and North American Partners in Chicago, Illinois; Birmingham, Alabama; and Greensboro, North Carolina.
The bulletin described the new Assurex member firms as follows:
— Arachas Corporate Brokers Ltd., Cork, Ireland: Arachas is Ireland’s leading independently-owned insurance brokerage. The company’s specialty is developing innovative and unique insurance solutions for corporate and commercial clients, providing a real and competitive alternative. Arachas was formed in March 2004 following the merger of two of Ireland’s longest established brokerage firms, Tyrrell Coakley Insurance Group & Hodgins Percival & Associates Ltd. The group was formed by Donal Cronin and his vision of providing the highest level of service; placing Arachas at the forefront of the brokerage industry in Ireland. The company has offices both in Cork and Dublin and employs approximately 100 people.
— J.B. Boda & Company Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, India: Founded in 1943, J.B. Boda & Company is the oldest and largest local brokerage firm in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. With over 800 employees, the firm provides commercial property and casualty, personal insurance, life and benefits, risk consulting, asset valuation and reinsurance. J.B. — Cobbs, Allen & Hall, Incorporated, Birmingham, Alabama: Founded in 1887 Cobbs, Allen & Hall, Incorporated is the largest privately held agency in Alabama. Services and products include property and casualty, personal lines, employee benefits, surety, financial services and third party administration. Cobbs, Allen & Hall specializes in construction, technology industries, transportation, manufacturing, restaurants, municipalities, churches, and other industries.
— Gabel Corredores de Seguros SAC, Lima, Peru: A family owned insurance brokerage firm, Gabel Corredores de Seguros traces its roots to 1982. The firm delivers commercial property and casualty, personal lines, employee benefits, loss/claims, and workers comp, among other insurance products and services. Gabel Corredores de Seguros specializes in construction, hospitality, casinos, and private schools, among others.
— MaKLeR Sociedad de Corretaje de Seguros, C.A., Caracas, Venezuela: Founded in 1995, MaKLeR Sociedad de Corretaje de Seguros is one of Venezuela’s leading independent insurance, employee benefits, and risk management brokers. MaKLeR specializes in restaurants, hi-tech industries, food manufacturers, pharmaceutical, warehousing, banking, schools, among other industries.
— Senn Dunn, Greensboro, North Carolina: Founded in 1927, Senn Dunn is North Carolina’s largest privately held insurance brokerage firm with two Triad locations. National Underwriter magazine named Senn Dunn commercial “Agency of the Year” in October 2004. Services and products include property and casualty, employee benefits, personal lines and human resources consulting. Senn Dunn specializes in construction, textile manufacturing, trucking, hospitality and property management.
— Thilman Filippini LLC, Chicago, Illinois: Founded in 1980, Thilman Filippini [TF] is one of Illinois’ leading insurance and risk management brokers and consultants. TF has special focus in risk management systems and consulting in property/casualty and employee benefits for many industries including construction, senior housing general manufacturing [including food products/distribution], sports, real estate management/development, energy, foundries and transportation.
