Swiss Re Capital Unit Names Gocksch Global Head – Market Risk

Swiss Re Capital Management and Advisory (CMA) has named Andreas Gocksch as Head of Market Risk. He will be based in New York and is responsible for managing the global market risk management function in CMA, reporting to Robert Ratcliffe, Head of Risk and Internal Controls for CMA.

“Andreas brings to Swiss Re an extensive experience in the areas of developing and implementing global market risk measurements, quality controls and reporting,” Ratcliffe stated.

Gocksch joins Swiss Re following a seven-year career at Merrill Lynch, where he was most recently Managing Director in the firm’s Corporate Risk Management Group, overseeing the risk management activities of the Global Rates, FX, Energy and Treasury businesses. He received his Doctorate in Theoretical Elementary Particle Physics from New York University in 1984, and was Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of San Diego from 1985 to 1988.
