Endurance Names Silverstein New Chief Investment Officer

Bermuda-based Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd., a global provider of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, announced that Mark Silverstein has joined Endurance Services Limited as the company’s new Chief Investment Officer. He has 19 years of professional experience in investments, most recently as an Executive Vice President with XL Investment Management (USA), LLC.

Chairman, President and CEO Kenneth J. LeStrange commented: “I am very pleased to welcome Mark to the Endurance management team. Mark is a seasoned investment professional. His expertise will be a tremendous asset to Endurance, particularly as our invested assets and investment leverage continue to increase.”

The announcement said, “Silverstein has focused on fixed income investments throughout his career. He began his career in 1985 in Fixed Income Research with Credit Suisse First Boston. In 1991, Mr. Silverstein joined BEA Associates, an investment firm, as Vice President, Fixed Income Portfolio Manager. BEA was later acquired by Credit Suisse Asset Management, where Mr. Silverstein became Managing Director, Fixed Income Portfolio Manager.

“His responsibilities included managing U.S. and global core fixed income portfolios with $4.5 billion in assets. Most recently, Mr. Silverstein was an Executive Vice President at XL Investment Management (USA), LLC. In this capacity, he led the Structured and Spread Asset Group, which manages $13 billion in assets.”
