The UK’s Beazley Group plc announced that Peter Jenkins and Marc Werblow have joined its political risks underwriting team. “Their appointment demonstrates Beazley’s commitment to grow the business through attracting best in class underwriting talent,’ said the bulletin.
Jenkins joins Beazley after eight years working for AIG’s global trade and political risks team in both New York and London. Werblow has extensive experience in the banking sector, focusing on commodity and structured finance risk since 1990 for Fortis Bank, WestLB and, most recently for The Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi (UFJ Bank).
Adrian Lewers, head of political and contingency group, commented: “With Marc and Peter on board we look forward to further developing our overall product offering for the market, particularly as we get ready for the next phase in the growth of the business.”
Johnny Rowell, head of specialty lines, added: “Political risk business is an increasingly important part of the specialty lines division, as such we are thrilled to attract such high caliber talent to develop our already well-established political risks team.”
