Marsh UK announced that Douglas Ure has been named a Senior Risk Consultant for its Risk Strategies Services team. He is based in Marsh’s London office and will provide advice around risk identification, assessment and management to both public and private organizations worldwide.
Marsh described the team as dedicated to helping its clients to “identify and analyze the risks in their organizations, or those associated with specific initiatives, projects and decisions. It also helps firms develop, implement and audit risk management strategies and processes to meet their business objectives.”
Ure joins Marsh from Primary Group Ltd., an insurance services company, where he was Group Risk Manager. He has also worked with Accenture as a Risk Management Advisor, and has co-chaired AIRMIC’s (The UK’s Risk Management Association) Business Continuity Management steering committee.
Stephen Roberts, Senior Vice President of Marsh’s Risk Strategies Services, observed that “often, organizations invest in elaborate risk management programs without first identifying their risk profiles. By getting back to first principles, managing these risks effectively, and aligning them to their business strategy, organizations can find the upside in their risks and gain a strong competitive edge.” He added that URE has “a broad perspective of risk issues, having been engaged both in-house and as a risk adviser.”
