Willis Re Names Three Executives to Drive Global Growth Strategy

Willis Group Holdings has announced three senior appointments at Willis Re, the company’s reinsurance arm. The bulletin said the “appointments are designed to accelerate the unit’s global progress against Willis’ Shaping our Future strategy, a series of initiatives designed to deliver breakout growth and performance.”

John Ehinger, President of Willis Re US, has been named Chief Operating Officer on a global basis. He will concentrate on leading the execution of the Shaping our Future strategy across Willis Re, while continuing to serve as President of Willis Re US through to the end of 2008 with a successor to be named at a later date.

Mark Lever has been promoted from Managing Director for Operations, International and Specialty, to the role of Chief Administrative Officer for Willis Re globally. He will work closely with Ehinger to deliver on Shaping our Future objectives. Based in London, Lever will continue in his current role as the key operational interface for Willis Re’s International and Specialty arms.

Iain Pocock will continue as Chief Financial Officer of Willis Re with increased responsibilities. He will play an active role in implementing Shaping our Future across Willis Re on a global basis, working closely with Ehinger and Lever. He will be based in Ipswich and London.

Peter Hearn, CEO of Willis Re expressed his confidence that the newly appointed executives would “contribute significantly to our ongoing progress with Shaping our Future.”
