Chartered Insurance Institute Launches Masterclasses with RSA

January 15, 2009

The UK’s Chartered Insurance Institute (CII Group) announced that it has launched a new program of masterclasses, in collaboration with Royal & SunAlliance (RSA), “to reach a global audience and provide additional content for faculty members, directly responding to members’ requests for more online content.”

The inaugural masterclass on Construction last month was given by Don Neff, President, La Jolla Pacific Ltd. The CII said: “Feedback from participants was very positive.”

Comments from the class included the statement of one participant that it was “a thorough presentation of most aspects of risk management in respect of construction.” Another added: “The presenter was highly informative and kept the content interesting using real life examples from his own business experience.”

Gillian Donegan, Manager, General Insurance Faculties, at the CII Group acknowledged the support of RSA in providing the technology for the masterclasses: “These classes are an excellent additional benefit available to faculty members – as well as RSA employees – complementing the existing online member content such as faculty viewpoints.”

Commenting on the first masterclass, Martin Alderman, RSA UK Technical Academy director said: “I’m delighted that RSA and the CII have collaborated on this exciting new venture. The masterclass from Don Neff on risk management in the construction industry was well executed with a first class presentation.”

Future plans are to create a series of masterclasses with the CII supplying speakers and further support from RSA to continue to provide both CII members and RSA employees another practical way to advance their professionalism in the industry.
