Zurich Financial Services has announced the appointment of Saad Mered (42, US citizen) as CEO Middle East with immediate effect. In this position, he will oversee Zurich’s operations in the Middle East. Mered will be based in Dubai and will report to Geoff Riddell, CEO Asia Pacific & Middle East region.
“Mered joins Zurich from AIG where he has held various senior positions during his long tenure with the company, from financial lines underwriting and running AIG’s Egypt operations to holding a global role in the implementation of their small business strategy,” said the announcement.
He holds a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
