Zurich Makes Two Investment Management Executive Appointments

Zurich Financial Services Group has announced the appointment of two executives within its Investment Management sector as follows:

Hansjörg Germann (46, Swiss and Italian citizen) has been appointed to the position of Head of Strategy Development, effective January 1, 2012. He succeeds Peter Teuscher, who has been appointed Chief Investment Officer of Farmers Group Inc., effective January 1, 2012. In his new position, Mr. Germann will be responsible for all aspects of the strategic asset allocation for the Group’s investment portfolio. He will report to Cecilia Reyes, Chief Investment Officer, and be based in Zurich.

Germann joined Zurich in 2003 as Regional Investment Manager for Continental Europe, became Chief Investment Officer Switzerland in 2005 and took on his current position as Regional Investment Manager for Asia Pacific and Middle East in 2009. He holds a master’s degree in Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich and is a CFA Charterholder.

Guy Miller (43, British citizen) has been appointed to the position of Chief Market Strategist and Head of Macroeconomics, with immediate effect. In this newly created position Mr. Miller will be responsible for providing the Group’s macroeconomic outlook and for determining the market strategy for investment management. He will report to Cecilia Reyes and be based in Zurich.

Miller joined Zurich in 2003 as the Group’s Market Strategist for the U.S. and for the UK, before taking on his position of Head of Market Strategy. Prior to joining Zurich, Mr. Miller was a portfolio manager for 13 years. He holds a degree in Commerce from Napier University in Edinburgh and is a member of the Institute of Investment Management and Research (IIMR) and of the UK Society of Investment Professionals (UK SIP).
