MAPFRE GLOBAL RISKS, a subsidiary of Spain’s MAPFRE, which specializes in underwriting large risks, announced that for the next there years it will insure the aviation risks in the insurance programs of Iberia, Vueling, Air Nostrum and the newly created Iberia Express.
Another subsidiary, MAPFRE AMÉRICA will cover, for the first time, the operations in Latin America of air carrier LAN Chile.
Iberia, which belongs to Holding IAG, has had an insurance policy in force with the MAPFRE Group for over 10 years. LAN has decided this year to jointly place their aviation risks as well.
MAPFRE said the selection of its subsidiary for the coverage “recognizes MAPFRE’s professionalism and presence in Spain and Latin America.”
