Bermuda-based Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd. announced that Michael Belfatti will join the company as Chief Actuary with responsibility for overseeing Endurance’s global pricing and reserving activities.
He will be based in Endurance’s Bermuda office and reports to CEO David Cash. The appointment is subject to approval by the Bermuda Department of Immigration.
Cash welcomed Belfatti to the company, indicating that he “is a talented actuary with significant experience in the specialty insurance and reinsurance lines and as a senior consultant to the insurance industry and we are confident that he will be a great addition to our company and team.”
Belfatti’s recent experience includes serving as Executive VP and Chief Actuary for Validus Holdings, Ltd., Senior Consultant and Head of the Actuarial practice for the Philadelphia office of Tillinghast and Senior VP and Chief Actuary at ACE Financial Solutions.
He holds a B.A. in Mathematics and Political Science from Swarthmore College and a M.E. in Financial Engineering from Princeton University. Belfatti is a fellow in the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and the CAS Committee on Valuation, Finance and Investments. He has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has authored a number of articles on actuarial and risk management topics.
