Zurich has announced the appointment of Mark Hartigan (49, British citizen), currently Head of Strategic Business Development Global Life, to the position of CEO Global Life Asia Pacific & Middle East, effective December 31, 2012.
He succeeds Dan Bardin who will retire by end of this year. Hartigan will be responsible for “further developing and executing Global Life’s strategy across all Life businesses in Asia and the Middle East,” Zurich said. “He will report to Kevin Hogan, CEO Global Life, and be based in Hong Kong.”
Hartigan joined Zurich in 2009 as Head of the International and Expatriates Pillar for Global Life and also became CEO Global Life Middle East within the same year. He joined Zurich from Nexus Group Middle East where he served as Deputy CEO from 2006 to 2009. He holds a master’s degree in International Relations from King’s University College of London.
