Willis UK Awarded Chartered Status by CII

March 1, 2013

Willis Group Holdings announced that its UK business has been awarded the prestigious “Chartered Insurance Brokers” status by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).

Willis said the designation is “an exclusive title only awarded to firms that meet rigorous criteria and who place understanding of the clients’ needs and interests at the heart of the advice it gives. The ultimate symbol of professionalism, it indicates to clients that they can expect the highest quality of service from their broker.

“Willis UK demonstrated to the CII that it is committed to raising standards of knowledge, proficiency and ethical practice in the insurance industry. In an increasingly competitive market space and with FSA scrutiny and regulation on the rise, clients want financial services providers to evidence their continued drive towards professionalism.”

David Martin, CEO of Willis UK, said: “We are very proud to receive the CII’s Chartered insurance broker status. This award is recognition of the hard work and integrity of our Associates across the UK, and reinforces our commitment to offering quality advice and support for our clients to meet their insurance and risk management needs.”

Dr. Sandy Scott, CEO of the CII, added: “For a number of years Willis UK has worked closely with CII and been a strong supporter of professional development. It is extremely encouraging that Willis is the first major broker to achieve Chartered status in 2013 and their achievement is further evidence of the importance of the Chartered award to the very best brokers in the market.”
