XL Group announced the appointment of Thierry Daucourt as Chief Operating Officer of its International P&C Insurance business. He will be responsible for supporting the unit’s Chief Executive, Jason Harris, in the ongoing development and execution of its strategy and main policies to drive expansion, financial performance and efficiencies across the region.
Daucourt will report to and will be based in Zurich. XL noted that its International Region “includes all markets in Europe, Asia Pacific and Iberia & Latin America.”
Harris commented: “As we look to achieve further profitable growth, we need to add capabilities and develop new products while driving efficiencies across our vast region. A consistent performance is critical to our ability to serve clients and brokers with the high level of quality that we’re known for. Thierry’s broad experience in management roles with other global organizations positions him well to contribute to drive these efforts.”
Daucourt has over 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry. He joins XL Group from Chubb Insurance Company of Europe, where his last role was as Regional Manager Southern Europe. Since 1998, during his tenure with Chubb Europe, he progressed through various management roles. Prior, he was with Zurich Financial Services and also held various positions with Winterthur Insurance, including Head of the International Division, based in France. He is a Swiss national, married with two children.
