UK’s Miller Appoints Weaver as Head of Asia

Miller Insurance Services LLP, the UK-based specialist insurance and reinsurance broker, has appointed Simon Weaver as Head of Asia as of September 1, 2013

He joins Miller from JLT Asia where he was CEO of JLT Specialty Asia, responsible for developing and launching their specialty strategy in the region. He was part of the executive management team in Asia, which led 900 staff.

Weaver has 25 years of experience, having started his career in the London Market. He has worked in Asia since 1996 and held managing director positions in Hong Kong, Indonesia and Singapore.

As Head of Asia at Miller, Weaver will assume responsibility for the following:
— leading our business development strategy in the region
— the operational management of our Asian offices
— contributing to Miller’s overall growth plans.

He will be based in Singapore and will report to Julian Taylor, who is a member of Miller’s partnership board and leads the broker’s Energy business.
