UK non-life insurer Mitsui Sumitomo at Lloyd’s has hired two experienced underwriters as its Syndicate 3210 seeks to diversify its products and distribution to capitalize on significant international opportunities.
Joe Warner has joined the professional indemnity team as a Senior Underwriter from Hiscox. He will support the syndicate’s UK & international expansion.
“The syndicate is delivering enhancements to its products to support both web-based trading and the packaging of professional indemnity with other property and casualty classes,” said the announcement.
“As part of a long term strategic alignment between Mitsui Sumitomo and Nexus Underwriting Management, the syndicate announced that Andrew Pecover is joining with immediate effect.” He will lead Syndicate 3210’s evolving D&O business. “Although Syndicate 3210 writes some financial lines business via Nexus, it is now rolling out a broader product capability and distribution strategy.”
Andrew Dougall, underwriting manager, casualty, professional lines, accident & health at Mitsui Sumitomo Syndicate 3210 welcomed the two new execs, indicating that the insurer is seeking “to capitalize on recent product diversification and the implementation of a broader geographical strategy.”
