Xchanging Launches New wifi service for London Insurance Market

September 26, 2013

Xchanging, the business process, procurement and technology services provider, has launched a free wifi service for the London Underwriting Center (LUC), home to many insurance businesses. The service will support the mobile application X-presso, and “will increase both the speed and efficiency for the insurance market using the leading mobile insurance application,” said the announcement.

“X-presso is the single mobile platform for services, tools and content for insurance professionals. X-presso is designed as a container for a variety of insurance apps to help facilitate services and content use. Two new applications for X-presso will be demonstrated at the LUC wifi launch. These are:
IMR4Brokers – giving brokers access to claims and policy documents from the IMR (Insurers’ Market Repository).
Broker Lounge – a queuing and appointments platform which enables face to face meetings in the market.”

Xchanging also said the “new applications will complement the X-presso Claims Viewer, the application that allows carriers and claims professionals access to claims documents and data from the IMR, allowing users to search, download view and work with claims documents on their iPads.

“Both IMR4Brokers and Broker Lounge are expected to be launched by the end of 2013.”

Alexandra Considine, Mobile services Product Manager, said: “X-presso utilizes the mobile technology that many of us now carry with us and use on a daily basis. With more applications to join Claims Viewer, such as IMR4Brokers and Broker Lounge, X-presso is quickly becoming invaluable for the insurance market. The added benefit of free wifi means that mobile working is both fast and convenient.”

Adrian Guttridge, Executive Director, Insurance, added: “The expansion of the X-presso wifi throughout the London market, with more sites yet to be announced, demonstrates our long term commitment to making sure the 325 year old insurance market is fully up to speed with advanced modern technology.”
