ACE Makes New Appointments for Its Casualty Business in Asia Pacific

March 13, 2015

ACE Group has appointed Shaun Oliver to the role of head of casualty (energy and construction), Asia Pacific. The creation of this new role reflects the rapid growth and ongoing demand within this portfolio of business, the company said.

Based in Melbourne, Australia, Oliver will report to Adam Clifford, regional head of casualty for ACE in Asia Pacific and will work closely with underwriters throughout the region. He will be responsible for enhancing the product offerings and growing the portfolio in target industry segments.

Oliver joined the company in 2005 as a casualty underwriter in Melbourne and progressed to senior casualty and energy underwriter in 2008. By 2009, he was appointed as casualty underwriting manager, Western Australia and moved to Perth. In April 2012, this role was expanded to include the Asia Pacific casualty energy underwriter position.

Since 2013, Oliver has been managing the casualty portfolio in Victoria, Tasmania and Western Australia.

Related to Oliver’s new focus in the region, there are three new appointments in the casualty business for ACE in Australia: Stuart Kerr has moved from being ACE state manager – Queensland to the role of casualty manager – Australia; Trent Jeuring is the new casualty underwriting manager, Western Australia while Matthew O’Brien has been appointed as casualty underwriting manager, Victoria/Tasmania.
