DUAL Australia Launches Suite of Marine Products with New Team

June 26, 2015

DUAL, the underwriting arm of the Hyperion Insurance Group*, has announced the continued expansion of its global marine and energy practice following the launch of a marine offering at DUAL Australia Pty Ltd.

DUAL Australia will now offer a suite of commercial hull, cargo and marine liability products under a new marine team.

This team will be led by Andrew Black who will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to DUAL with over 30 years’ experience in the Australian and New Zealand markets. The initial focus will be on commercial hull, given Black’s technical expertise in this complex class, said the company in a statement.

“We are delighted at the progress we have made since launching our global marine and energy practice under Bernt Hellman,” commented Shane Doyle, DUAL CEO.

“We continue to receive strong support from the market, and are excited by the opportunities as we continue to expand our geographic reach and product range. DUAL has always had a strong presence in Australia and New Zealand, and so we are delighted to be bringing our marine offering to this market.”

Bernt Hellman, global practice leader, DUAL Marine & Energy, noted the company’s broking partners have said this is a segment of the market where additional capacity and expertise is required.

DUAL’s marine capability is underwritten exclusively on behalf of Lloyd’s of London.
