Willis Group Holdings plc has announced the completion of its acquisition of Elite Risk Services Limited of Taiwan.
Willis said the deal is a “significant boost” to its market presence in Taiwan, as it “almost doubles the size of its existing business. The newly combined resources and expertise will enable Willis to strengthen its offering to larger accounts, particularly in the technology, media & telecoms (TMT) and marine industry sectors.”
Adam Garrard, Asia Regional CEO of Willis, said: “The completion of this acquisition creates a platform for growth in Taiwan and across the region, with a highly motivated, innovative, responsive and technically skilled workforce to service our clients and prospects.”
Elite’s Chairman and President Jason Huang added that by “combining the strengths of our two firms, we will be able to offer our clients additional expertise, experience and product knowledge. I look forward to drawing on the extensive global resources of Willis Group to bring specialized knowledge to our clients.”
The bulletin also noted that “subject to regulatory approval, Elite’s 24 staff will become part of Willis Taiwan as soon as practicable, and will operate under the Willis brand. Willis Taiwan currently employs 38 staff from its headquarters in Taipei.
