Integro Acquires Ellis Clowes, UK-Based Motorsports Specialty Broker

Integro Ltd., the New York-based insurance broker and risk management firm, has become “the world’s leading motorsports insurance broker,” with the acquisition of Lloyd’s broker Ellis Clowes.

Financial considerations of the transaction have not been disclosed.

London and New York-based Ellis Clowes has led the field in global motorsports insurance for more than 30 years, said Integro in a statement. The firm also provides tailored insurance solutions to clients operating in the conflict and security sector, marine and aviation.

“For over 30 years, Ellis Clowes has built an unrivaled reputation for providing services in the motorsports sector internationally, and we are delighted that Karen Ellis and her incredibly accomplished team of specialists in the UK and US have agreed to join us,” said Neil Clayton, leader of Integro’s global Entertainment and Sports practice. “Ellis Clowes is a great brand and strong addition as we build Integro’s sports specialty practice.”

Ellis Clowes also offers a spectrum of insurance products across a number of other professional sports, including tennis, cycling, rugby and golf, working with individuals, teams and governing bodies and event promoters, Integro noted.

The Ellis Clowes brand and team will remain in place, and continue to be led by Karen Ellis, who also assumes the role of global head of motorsports within Integro’s global Entertainment and Sports practice, reporting to Neil Clayton.
