Tokio Marine Kiln Hires Brand & Lynchehaun as Liability Underwriters in London

December 29, 2015

Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK), the provider of specialist and corporate insurance, has appointed Andrew Brand and Dervla Lynchehaun as liability underwriters in its London office.

With more than a decade of experience, Brand joins TMK from QBE Insurance where he was an underwriter since 2003, with a focus on U.K. liability. He will work alongside Chris Cullen, who joined in July, and continue to drive forward the recently launched U.K. liability underwriting business on the Lloyd’s syndicate side.

Lynchehaun has spent six years writing UK and international general casualty and energy liability. She joins TMK from Arch Underwriting where she was an underwriter since 2010.

Both Brand and Lynchehaun will report in to Chris Jones, head of Liability for TMK Syndicates.

Commenting on the appointments Paul Culham, chief underwriting officer for TMK Syndicates, said:

“Liability is one of our key growth areas for TMK. To achieve this, we have a two pronged approach: organic growth led by Chris and the team, but also bringing in high quality, experienced underwriters that add depth to the division’s capabilities. These two hires are an example of this strategy in action.”

Chris Jones, head of Liability for TMK Syndicates, said:

“Andrew and Dervla are fantastic appointments that will help us to keep the momentum going in building the book of business whilst giving clients the quality of service they are coming to expect from the liability team at TMK.”
