XL Catlin has appointed Lloyd Haynes as senior underwriter, International Casualty, covering the Asia Pacific market, based in Singapore.

Haynes has worked in the insurance industry for more than 10 years. He joins XL Catlin from Allied World Assurance Co. where he was assistant vice president for General Casualty and the key driver for the growth of the Singapore operation’s liability portfolio, specializing in energy liability, construction liability, product liability/recall and large complex risks.

Haynes started his career in London in 2005 with QBE Europe/DAC 386 Syndicate working on various International Liability accounts before moving to Singapore in 2012.

“XL Catlin provides public and product liability insurance to a wide range of clients across Asia Pacific and globally, operating in various sectors including agriculture, construction, energy/utilities, food & beverage, hospitality, infrastructure, logistics, manufacturing, real estate, retail/wholesale and service industries,” commented Daniel Fay, regional product leader, International Casualty, Insurance – Asia.

“These clients make significant contributions to local economies and having the right insurance coverage in place can be critical to their ongoing success. Given Lloyd’s broad experience underwriting international, complex and specialist casualty business in Asia Pacific, I believe he is well-positioned to address these clients’ evolving needs,” added Fay.

“The risk our clients face are morphing and developing at a rapid pace; a situation brought about by the globalized nature of trade. In order to respond to our clients’ needs today and tomorrow, we need a varied blend of skills, people and mind-sets,” said David Guest, country manager, Singapore, Insurance and Regional Leader for Crisis Management, Asia Pacific.

“I believe that Lloyd has exactly the right expertise and is a great addition to the team here in Asia Pacific,” he added.
