Specialty insurer Markel International in London has appointed Mike Wimbridge as senior yacht underwriter to its marine, energy and property division.
Joining Markel’s existing hull and war team led by Jason Page, Wimbridge will have responsibility for developing and growing the current yacht portfolio into a market leading position and will be supported by underwriter Roz Insley.
Wimbridge has 30 years’ insurance experience in both underwriting and broking, most recently as yacht underwriter at Brit Global Specialty.

The appointment follows recent developments to broaden the range and scope of the marine, energy and property division’s offering, including capabilities in ports and terminals, marine trades, marine equipment and UK marine.
