Marsh has appointed Ailsa King as chief client officer, UK & Ireland. Reporting to Mark Weil, CEO, Marsh UK & Ireland, King will join Marsh’s UK & Ireland Executive Committee, and, subject to regulatory approval, will become a director of Marsh Ltd.

Her employment is expected to commence in the second quarter of 2017.

In her role as chief client officer, UK & Ireland, King will work across “Marsh’s operations to leverage the firm’s resources and lead the development of strategic solutions that will assist Marsh’s clients in mitigating the insurance and risk management challenges they face,” said the company in a statement.

She will work closely with executives across Marsh & McLennan’s operating companies, Guy Carpenter, Mercer, and Oliver Wyman, the statement added.

King joins Marsh from Willis Towers Watson, where she worked for 25 years, and most recently served as head of UK Client and Business Development. In this role, King was responsible for sales, client management, regional growth, industry segmentation and marketing. At Willis Towers Watson, King held numerous senior leadership positions including leader of the Risk Solutions client segment in the UK and client advocate for the retail and leisure and hospitality industries. From 1986 to 1991, King was an account executive in the Energy Division of Sedgwick, now part of Marsh.
