Chahine Named Chief Executive Officer of AXA Partners

June 5, 2018

Gilbert Chahine has been appointed chief executive officer of AXA Partners, the entity of the AXA Group Innovation Business Unit dedicated to forging global insurance and business partners.

Prior to this appointment, Gilbert Chahine was chief executive officer of AXA Egypt.

Guillaume Borie, AXA chief group innovation officer, said the appointment comes at a time when AXA is preparing to accelerate the partnership strategy. AXA Partners was established in 2015 to pursue partnerships with companies in the automotive, banking, retail, utilities, telecom and other industries and with the public sector. AXA Partners creates offers and distribution agreements whereby these partners may offer AXA products to their customers and users.

Before joining AXA Partners, Chahine contributed to launching AXA’s business in Egypt. Between 2014 and 2016, he co-managed the implementation of AXA’s establishment in Egypt by launching the group’s healthcare and property/casualty business. He was appointed CEO of AXA Egypt in 2016.

He first joined the AXA Group in 2007 as vice president in Investors Relations and was later appointed financial controller for the AXA Group’s financial and consolidation reporting. Prior to joining the AXA Group, Chahine held positions as audit director specializing in the insurance sector at auditing firm Mazars & Guerard.
