London-based insurance provider Thomas Miller reports it has agreed to purchase the managing general agency and insurance services operations of Zeller Associates, a shipping, trade and transport insurance specialist based in Hamburg.
No terms were disclosed
Zeller Associates, which also serves the cruise and tourism industry, is made up of six operational businesses covering a range of services from insurance underwriting and insurance management to claims handling, loss adjusting and expert investigations. The operations employ 37 people.
Hugo Wynn Williams, chairman, Thomas Miller, said the acquisition “is an excellent and complementary addition” to the Thomas Miller Group.
since 1885, Thomas Miller has provided management services to mutual organisations, particularly in the international transport and professional indemnity sectors and today it manages a large percentage of insurance mutuals. Thomas Miller also manages insurance facilities for self-employed barristers in England and Wales, as well as for the trustees of pension schemes, patent agents and housing associations.
