AXA XL Names Moniz & Scully to Lead Excess Casualty Teams in Bermuda, Dublin, Respectively

AXA XL announced two senior promotions within its Excess Casualty Insurance business.

Effective immediately Vivienne Moniz and Elaine Scully have been appointed as head of Excess Casualty, Bermuda, and head of Excess Casualty, Dublin, respectively.

Their responsibilities will include driving strategic growth and operational objectives within their regions and ensuring the highest degree of underwriting standards and profitability while maintaining superior broker and client satisfaction.

Moniz will report to Patrick Tannock, chief executive officer, Insurance, for XL Bermuda Ltd, With more than 15 years of industry experience, Moniz has held progressively senior roles within the company including most recently head of Healthcare, Bermuda. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business, specializing in international business from the University of LaTrobe, Melbourne Australia. She also has Associate in Claims and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters designations.

Scully, who will report to Donnacha Smyth, AXA XL Insurance president, Global Excess Casualty, has more than 11 years of industry experience. Prior to her new role, Scully was senior underwriter, vice president with the Excess Casualty team in Dublin. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors, specializing in international insurance and European studies from the University of Limerick in Ireland. She has a Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) certification from the International Risk Management Institute and an ACII designation from the Chartered Insurance Institute.
