March 7, 2019

Lockton has hired Philip Corrigan to the role of regional chief operations officer as it looks to expand its business and expertise across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

Corrigan will join a fast-growing team in the APAC offices of the world’s largest privately held independent insurance broker with bases and partnerships in China, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines and South Korea.

Corrigan joins Lockton with more than 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry, and specifically 15 years of experience leading insurance teams in the APAC region. He has spent much of his career at Jardine Lloyd Thomson (JLT), and worked for the firm in managerial roles in Indonesia, Vietnam and South Korea. Most recently Corrigan was the CEO of JLT Thailand.

In his new role as regional COO of Lockton in Asia, Corrigan will work alongside teams in the region to assist in the growth of Lockton Asia’s geographic footprint. The insurance brokerage will continue to build its presence in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand.

Furthermore, Lockton will continue to invest in specialty which will assist all the operations as well as its associated companies, Sime Darby Lockton – Malaysia and Lockton – Philippines.

“The APAC region’s insurance sectors are made up of both mature markets and developing markets which are at various stages in their respective development,” said Warren Merritt, CEO of Lockton Asia. “As such, we see a huge opportunity to enter new geographies in the region while also enhancing Lockton Asia’s existing businesses though the acquisition of personnel and expansion into new specialty business areas in those markets.”
