Roberts Appointed as Global Renewable Energy Leader, Marsh JLT Specialty

Marsh, the insurance broker and risk adviser, announced the appointment of Hamish Roberts as global renewable energy leader, Marsh JLT Specialty.

Effective 1 January, Roberts will continue to be based in London and will report to Andrew George, global head, Energy & Power, Marsh JLT Specialty.

Roberts is one of the world’s foremost experts on insurance and risk management for the renewable energy industry, having worked in various advisory roles in the international energy and power sector for over 35 years, said Marsh in a statement. Roberts was previously power leader, Marsh JLT Specialty, and served as CEO of Aon’s Global Power Specialty for six years, from 2008-2014.

In this newly created role, Roberts will develop the business’s renewable energy proposition and create new services and solutions that will support the fast-growing renewable energy industry globally, as well as enable traditional providers to continue their transition to renewable power sources.

Roberts’s appointment is the latest in a number of high-profile additions to Marsh JLT Specialty’s Renewable Energy roster over the last 12 months. Roberts will head a global team of over 100 colleagues led regionally by:

  • Michael Kolodner, the U.S.
  • Joanne Silberberg, Canada
  • Darren Popham, UK
  • Maria Arana, Continental Europe
  • Martin Beck, Asia
  • Jane Smith, Australia
  • Mark Walshaw, Middle East and Africa
  • PauloCelso Mantovani, Latin America.
