Specialist MGA CFC Acquires Australian Cyber Security Firm, Insane Technologies

March 17, 2021

CFC, a specialist managing general agent, announced it has acquired Insane Technologies, an Australian cyber security and incident response provider.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. The deal is subject to approval by the Australian Foreign Investment Board.

CFC said the addition of Insane Technologies deepens its bench of highly skilled in-house technical experts and furthers its mission to offer 24×7, follow-the-sun cyber security and incident response services to its customers around the world,

“Like us, Insane have been handling cyber security incidents for over two decades and are one of the most experienced providers in the market,” said Dave Walsh, CEO of London-based CFC. “We’re excited to bring their team of deeply skilled technical experts in-house to help strengthen our proposition for our cyber insurance customers.”

CFC has been providing cyber insurance for over 20 years and has one of the largest cyber underwriting teams in the market. The company recently released the latest version of its cyber incident response app, which offers real-time threat intelligence alerts, on-demand access to CFC’s incident response team and the ability to instantly notify a claim or cyber incident.

CFC also recently released Connect, its proprietary self-service trading platform for cyber insurance, to the Australian market, offering the ability to quote and bind a cyber policy in minutes by answering just a single question.

CFC acquired Texas-based incident response provider Solis Security in October 2019, and insurtech ThreatInformer in 2020.
