BHSI Promotes McGriskin to Head of UK Financial Institutions

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) announced that Janine McGriskin has been named head of Financial Institutions, UK. She was previously senior underwriter, UK Financial Institutions, at BHSI.

McGriskin joined BHSI in March 2020, having amassed nearly two decades of executive and professional lines underwriting experience, much of it concentrated on the specialized needs of financial institutions. Former Enstar Exec Rocke to Lead RiverStone Int’l in Bermuda

RiverStone International, the industry-leading acquirer and reinsurer of legacy and discontinued insurance business, announced that David Rocke has joined the company, effective Feb. 1, 2022, as managing director of the company’s new Bermuda division.

Rocke has more than 25 years of experience in insurance and reinsurance legacy M&A, with a specific focus on transactions in Bermuda, the UK and the U.S. Prior to joining RiverStone, Rocke held the position of executive vice-president of M&A at Enstar and has been based in Bermuda since 2006. In this role he had a specialist focus on M&A projects and was responsible for numerous acquisition transactions involving billions of reserve liabilities. He also acted as a director for more than 20 regulated entities in Bermuda and the UK.

Tysers Names Aon’s Lucas for Political Violence & Terrorism Team

Tysers, the London-based independent Lloyd’s broker, announced that James Lucas will join the firm as associate sirector as it expands its political violence and terrorism team in response to increased demand from international clients.

Lucas will join from Aon Benfield where he is responsible for developing the Latin America and EMEA Terrorism and Political Violence solutions across Aon’s network.

Based in London, he will join a global team led by Ciara Appleford, when she starts at Tysers, where his broking experience, market expertise and technical ability will help to deepen Tysers’ client relationships both in the London market and internationally.

Lucas’ appointment will be the latest in a series of senior hires as Tysers continues to expand its presence in London and globally. In 2021, Tysers made a number of new hires to further strengthen its marine, construction and casualty offerings.
