UK’s Specialist Risk Group Acquires Specialist Schemes Broker, Brentacre Insurance

March 4, 2025

Specialist Risk Group (SRG), the London-based insurance intermediary, announced the acquisition of Brentacre Insurance, a specialist broker with deep expertise in providing insurance for modified and performance vehicles, subject to regulatory approval.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1987 and based in Swansea, Wales, Brentacre has built a strong reputation for its tailored approach to insuring modified, classic, and performance cars, as well as specialist commercial vehicles. The business has cultivated a loyal client base and is known for its in-depth industry knowledge and exceptional customer service.

SRG said the acquisition is a natural cultural fit, aligning with SRG’s strategy of partnering with deeply specialist businesses that bring unique expertise to the group. The Brentacre team will join SRG’s UK retail business Specialist Risk Insurance Solutions (SRIS).

Brentacre will now have access to SRG’s wider distribution capability, providing new opportunities for growth and expansion. The business will continue to deliver the same expert, personalized service that has defined its success over several decades.

“We are thrilled to welcome Brentacre to SRG. As a specialist schemes broker with a deep focus on modified and performance vehicle insurance, Brentacre is an ideal fit for our fast-growing business,” commented Lee Anderson, group deputy CEO of Specialist Risk Group, in a statement.

“This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate and expand in a niche area which once again reinforces our position as the natural home for specialist businesses,” Anderson said.

“With SRG’s support, resources and investment, we look forward to growing our offering and continuing to provide our clients with the specialist insurance solutions they rely on,” according to John White, managing director of Brentacre Insurance.
