Michigan’s Meadowbrook Insurance Group, Inc. announced that it has reached an agreement to offer workers’ compensation coverage to select group and association clients of the Kansas City-based Dodson Group, which has been in business for over 100 years.
“We are pleased to reach this agreement. We will work closely with the Dodson Group team to continue to offer quality service and protection to the longstanding members of this group of historically profitable programs,” stated Robert S. Cubbin, Meadowbrook’s President and CEO.
Dodson’s Chairman and CEO Cathleen Dodson Macauley, noted that “By joining forces, Meadowbrook and Dodson will provide our clients with 150 years of combined small business expertise. We are highly compatible companies with similar vision, experience and commitment to specialty program business.”
Under the agreement, Meadowbrook’s insurance carriers, Star Insurance Company and Savers Property and Casualty Insurance Company, will underwrite and offer coverage to qualified insureds of Dodson Group when their current policies expire. Current Dodson Group staff members will continue to provide claims management, underwriting and customer service. Meadowbrook won’t assume any existing liabilities, loss reserves or claims.
“This initiative is consistent with both companies’ strategies of utilizing strict underwriting guidelines to provide insurance coverage and risk management services to specialty groups and associations”, Cubbin stated.
