Acordia Names New V.P.

Chicago-based brokerage Acordia Inc. has named Deborah M. Broderick vice president and executive assistant to the president. In her new capacity, Broderick will be directly responsible for assisting Acordia’s CEO, Kevin W. Conboy, as well as the company’s regional managing directors and corporate staff in the day-to-day operations of the company. In addition, her responsibilities will include work on Acordia’s short and long- term strategic goals as well as various marketing and acquisition opportunities.

Broderick has been in the insurance brokerage business since 1991. She joined Acordia in 1995 when Acordia purchased Bain Hogg Robinson. At that time, Broderick was chief financial officer for their Michigan offices. She then became vice president and chief financial officer for Acordia’s Midwest region from 1997 to 1999. Most recently, she held the position of vice president and treasurer of Acordia Inc.

Prior to 1991 Broderick worked as a CPA for KPMG Peat Marwick as a senior manager in their Detroit office as well as working as a financial officer in the leasing industry.

A graduate of Albion College’s Gerstacker Institute for Professional Management, in Albion, Mich., Broderick is a certified public accountant and a licensed property/ casualty insurance agent. She was recognized in Crain’s Detroit Business‘ “40 Under 40” special section.
