Fiorile, Blackburn Named to State Auto Mutual Board

Michael J. Fiorile and Mark A. Blackburn were elected to the Columbus, Ohio-based insurer State Automobile Mutual Insurance Co.’s board of directors at its Nov. 21 meeting.

Fiorile has been president and CEO of the Dispatch Broadcast Group since April 1994 and was recently named senior vice president of sales at the Dispatch Printing Co., where he serves on the board.

Prior to joining the Dispatch Broadcast Group, he served as vice president and general manager of four television stations, including stations in Sacramento, Calif., and Asheville, N.C. He is active in community affairs, serving as chairman of the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce and immediate past chairman of the board of trustees of Columbus School for Girls. Fiorile graduated cum laude from Boston College with a bachelor’s degree in communications.

Blackburn joined State Auto in July 1999 as vice president of assumed reinsurance operations. In 2001 he was named senior vice president and director of insurance operations. Blackburn’s 30-year insurance career has included positions in commercial and personal lines underwriting, agency development, sales and marketing.

Before joining State Auto he had served in executive capacities with prominent national and regional reinsurance and property casualty companies. Blackburn is a graduate of Ohio State University and is active in numerous industry and civic organizations.
