Brooke Corp. Adds Mitch Holthus, Shawn Lowry to Board of Directors

Brooke Corporation, headquarted in Overland Park, Kansas, recently announced that Mitch Holthus and Shawn Lowry were elected to its board of directors at their annual meeting of shareholders. They become the seventh and eighth members of the board, according to the Corporation’s recent written statement.

“Shawn and Mitch have been vital to Brooke Franchise Corporation’s growth and success and we are excited to have them bring their experience and expertise to the parent board,” said Robert D. Orr, chairman and chief executive officer of Brooke Corporation.

Mitch Holthus has served as a director of Brooke Franchise Corporation, the Company’s franchise subsidiary, since 2003. He has been the “Voice of the Kansas City Chiefs” NFL football team since 1994 and was the play-by-play voice of the Kansas State Wildcats from 1983 until 1996. He has also been a play-by-play sportscaster of Missouri Valley Conference collegiate basketball games since 1996. Holthus has served as the president of the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association since 2004, has been named “Kansas Sportscaster of the Year” eight times in his career, has been named top play-by-play sportscaster in Kansas nine times, and was awarded the Hod Humiston Award by the Kansas Association of Broadcasters. He was the sales manager for the Wildcat Sports Network for ten years and currently owns his own business featuring talent, marketing and motivational programs and services.

Shawn Lowry has served as president and a director of Brooke Franchise Corporation since 2003. Brooke Franchise has seen extensive growth under Lowry’s leadership, adding more than 350 locations to its franchise network since he became president. He joined Brooke Corporation in 1996 as corporate sales representative and thereafter served as its Missouri state manager, regional manager, and national sales manager before assuming his current role with Brooke Franchise. Lowry was also elected yesterday by the board of directors as a vice president of Brooke Corporation.
