Indiana Insurance Adds Enhanced Technology for Personal Lines

November 10, 2006

Indiana Insurance, a member of Liberty Mutual Group, has added real-time policy inquiry, endorsement quoting, and electronic endorsement submissions to the roster of functions available through Personal IQ, the company’s web-based technology for personal lines.

According to the company statement, the new enhancements allow Indiana Insurance appointed agents the following real-time functions for home, auto, umbrella, and packages through Personal IQ in the following ways:

• Endorsement quoting, endorsement submissions, and cancellation requests;
• Policy inquiry search by policy number or policyholder name;
• Access and display of current, first, prior, and renewal terms’ policy data;
• Current policy data modification capability for endorsement requests;
• Motor vehicle registry report ordering for newly added drivers;
• Summary of policy transaction history.

“We understand that efficient and accurate policy service is critical to our agents’ ongoing success as well as our own,” said Michael D. Connell, president and chief executive officer, Indiana Insurance. “The recent enhancement to Personal IQ is an excellent example of the company-agency partnership that is focused on better serving our policyholders’ needs and it’s that cooperative effort that makes Indiana Insurance stand out in the marketplace.”

Personal IQ allows for free navigation, which gives agents the ability to move freely among all data fields and screens associated with a policy, including hot links between the new business and endorsement workflows. Additionally, agents can now view more data on a single screen, such as all drivers and vehicles covered on a policy, rather than scrolling across multiple screens.

“Of the many carrier systems we use, Indiana’s Personal IQ is the best. It’s simple to use, streamlined, and there’s no duplicate entry when using the comparative rater,” said Julie Most, personal lines manager for Marion, Indiana-based Insurance Management. “These latest enhancements make it possible to do mid-term quoting that yields a real time rate, so the customer knows immediately what the true cost will be.”

Currently, almost 90 percent of all new business applications are submitted through Personal IQ.

Indiana Insurance offers property and casualty products, including personal and commercial coverage, distributed only through appointed independent agents. Headquartered in Loveland, Ohio, Indiana Insurance provides insurance in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee. Indiana Insurance is part of Liberty Mutual Agency Markets, a business unit of Liberty Mutual Group, consisting of property and casualty and specialty insurance carriers that distribute their products and services primarily through independent agents and brokers.
