Wis. Olympic Speedskater FitzRandolph Joins Wausau Signature Agency

One year ago, Olympic gold medal speedskater Casey FitzRandolph was headed for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turino, Italy as the defending champion in the 500 meters long track event. Today, the 32-year-old Wisconsinite is a first-time dad beginning a new career as a sales representative in Madison, Wis. for a prominent national commercial insurance agency.

“I consider myself fortunate in so many ways,” said FitzRandolph. “I enjoyed a successful speedskating career, and now I have a great opportunity to start a new career with Wausau Signature Agency.”

Wausau Signature Agency (WSA) a commercial insurance agency, offers property and casualty and group products from a variety of carriers. FitzRandolph was sponsored by Wausau Insurance during his final four years of international competition.

“Over the past four years, I had an opportunity to get to know Wausau Signature Agency very well,” FitzRandolph said. “Through various speaking engagements, I met many of Wausau’s employees and customers at various events. In my new role with WSA, I look forward to building on the positive relationships I have with this agency.”

Casey and his wife, Jennifer, are celebrating the birth of their first child, Sawyer, born on January 10 in Madison. The family resides in Verona, Wis.

“Over the past four years, we were proud to be associated with Casey because he reflected Wausau’s values of commitment, integrity and hard work both on and off the ice,” said Mark Steinberg, president of Wausau Signature Agency. “Now we wish him well in his new role with WSA.”

Casey FitzRandolph will represent WSA and Wausau Insurance during the opening ceremonies of the nation’s largest annual amateur winter sports festival which begins on Friday, Feb. 2. Wausau Insurance is the host sponsor of the event, with opening ceremonies beginning at 7 p.m. on Feb. 2 at Cedar Creek Mall in Rothschild, Wis. He will join former Olympic long-distance runner, Suzy Favor Hamilton, in leading the parade of athletes at the opening ceremony. At 6 p.m. that evening, FitzRandolph will present medals to the winners of a youth speedskating competition.
