Indiana Insurance Offers New Commercial Lines Product

September 20, 2007

Loveland, Ohio-based Indiana Insurance, a member of Liberty Mutual Group, recently announced the introduction of its new commercial lines product, Custom Protector.

Custom Protector is a comprehensive array of property and liability coverages that can be customized for more than 500 business classes. In addition to expanded eligibility, Custom Protector offers optional market segment endorsements for twelve specific industries, including contractors, hotel/motel, manufacturing, restaurants, retail, and wholesale/distributors. Split-rated property and liability coverages allow for price adjustments to match a customer’s specific exposure. Custom Protector is available to small to mid-sized businesses that are low to medium-hazard risks with receipts up to $15 million per location.

SmartNav, the new pre-qualification tool within Commercial IQ, Indiana Insurance’s online quoting and policy application system, suggests the most appropriate product for a commercial risk after an agent selects a business class code and responds to a few basic eligibility questions.

“We expect this will cut submission time by about one-third for our agents,” said Candy Kiser, manager, Agency Interface, Indiana Insurance. “Agents who already find Commercial IQ a quick and efficient way to submit accounts will find SmartNav to be a big timesaver, because they’ll know up-front whether a potential account meets our underwriting guidelines.”

Commercial Protector is a product that provides property and liability coverage in a single policy for small business accounts with receipts up to $8.5 million per location. Indiana Insurance’s Comprehensive Business Policy (CBP) is designed for more complex, middle-market accounts.

Indiana Insurance offers property and casualty products, including personal and commercial coverage, distributed only through appointed independent agents. Indiana Insurance provides insurance in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee.
